The Speech and Language Pathologist provides evaluation and training for consumers who wish to improve their speech and voice. Individuals may want to increase intelligibility for functional social phrases or improve articulation for specific speech sounds.

Participants in this program utilize a variety of communication methods such as object cues, object symbols, communication cards, gestures and sign. The Speech and Language Pathologist may provide training in the use of object symbols, communication books and cards, calendars and other alternative and augmentative systems and devices.

The Speech and Language Pathologist is also involved in group classes to develop language and conversational skills such as a leisure planning meetings and current events discussion groups. These groups provide an opportunity to practice language skills such as responding to questions, asking questions, relating events and asking for clarification.
