THIS IS THE MAIN PAGE OF "LOW VISION" IN "TRAINING AND SUPPORT SERVICES"
The Low Vision program enables consumers to use their residual vision most effectively. The low vision instructor, and the consulting optometrist provide a functional vision assessment (near and distance acuities, visual fields and use of low vision aids). The optometrist makes recommendations for specific low vision aids and the low vision instructor offers training to the consumer in the use and care of the aids. All consumers are examined by the consulting ophthalmologist to determine if any medical treatment is required.
