While receiving training at the Helen Keller National Center, students reside at the Peter J. Salmon Residence in dorm-style rooms. Typically, students share a room with a roommate. Three meals a day are provided in the cafeteria.

On-campus apartments are used as part of a training experience as well as three off-campus apartments. In the residence there are TV lounges, a computer/CCTV room, and a TTY/telebraille/phone room. A recreation specialist is on staff to assist students in developing and implementing leisure-time activities during evenings and weekends.

Habilitation specialists are on staff 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
