In an interview with Roberta Fascinelli, Winnie discusses the emotional issues faced by a deaf person who loses vision later in life due to this congenital genetic disorder. She also reveals how she dealt with this severe loss and with the practical issues of real life. Ilene Miner, psychiatric social worker, explains what Usher Syndrome is and discusses other etiologies of deaf-blindness.

A 25-minute video, developed by HKNC staff in 1992 to correlate with the printed edition of the book of the same name. The book is a progressive sign-language manual particularly designed to meet the communication needs of individuals who are deaf-blind and multi-handicapped. It was written and edited by Laura G. Cummings and sponsored by the Illinois Deaf-Blind Services Center. Published in January 1985.
The video can be purchased directly from HKNC for $7.00. The book is $15.00. Postage is $3.00 per item if ordered separately. Combination of video and book is $26 and includes postage.
