THIS IS THE "COMMUNITY EDUCATION" PAGE IN "INVOLVEMENT"
This department:
produces HKNC's magazine, THE NAT-CENT NEWS, edited by Dr. Robert Smithdas, to foster an understanding of the needs and abilities of people who are deaf-blind;
schedules tours and visits for potential students and their families, professionals in the field, college/university students and interested members of the community;
acts as a liaison with a volunteer fund-raising group, The Friends of HKNC;
produces braille materials for students, staff and, on a limited basis, for local organizations and businesses;
coordinates American Sign Language classes for the community.
