THIS IS THE MAIN PAGE OF THE "OLDER ADULT GRANT" IN "OLDER ADULT PROGRAM"
This 5-year project will explore ways to improve employment and community integration outcomes for persons 55 and over who are experiencing vision and hearing loss resulting from aging. The project is a collaborative effort of the Mississippi State University Rehabilitation Research and Training Center (RRTC) on Blindness and Low Vision, the Helen Keller National Center for Deaf-Blind Youths and Adults in Sands Point, NY, and the RRTC on Persons who are Hard of Hearing or Late Deafened at National University in San Diego, CA.
The goals of the project are to:

investigate community integration strategies
develop strategies to improve communication systems, transportation and job placements for those aging with hearing and vision loss; and
develop model service delivery systems for service providers, families and consumers that improve the quality of life for those aging with hearing and vision loss.
