        Governor signs Proclamation for Helen Keller Deaf-Blind Awareness Week (3rd photo in slide show)

 

North Carolina

        A consumer group  held a  Deaf-Blind Awareness celebration on June 4th .  Consumers and local service providers attended.

South Carolina

        A consumer joined Mayor Riley of Charleston for a signing of the Deaf-Blind Awareness proclamation

        The Deaf-Blind  Program coordinator  arranged for a signing of the DB Awareness proclamation  by the governor.    

South Carolina Interagency Deaf-Blind Project  sent out  cards with a  loop style ribbon  pins  asking recipients  to  "Please  join the SC Interagency Deaf-Blind Project  in celebrating Deaf-Blind Awareness Week." Helen Keller's quote " Alone  we  can do so little, together we can do so much" was also included.

Tennessee

A group that participated in the HKNC Confident Living Program wanted to increase awareness. One of the group members has  organized  the first "Deaf-Blind Awareness Celebration & Confident Living Program Reunion of the TN O'Niners, to be held on Helen Keller's birthday, June 27th.

Reps of TN Organization of Deaf-Blind consumer group are  getting a proclamation for the Governor.
